Conflict: 28 May 2009

Hi, it's you again. Do you want to talk? I have time. You want to talk about the war? Okay.

I don't know all about it, but I have the basics. Like I said before, the war started about 150 years ago.

The government and the Gags both wanted a specific piece of space. Why? Oh, well Dee says that it's because that part has a lot of matter to harvest. A lot of metals and stars to take energy from.

There's also this planet with these other aliens on it, but they're not intelligent.

Anyway, fighting breaks out and our ships are all getting clobbered.

The Gags could coordinate attacks through their Links. But we got one of their link systems and started making ships and training people to use the links.

That was when most of the money got used up and the attention got taken away from colonies like Goldburg.

Now, this is the most famous part, we surprise attacked the Gags with our link ships. They didn't know what happened until almost all of their ships were gone.

We lost a lot too, but winning got a lot more money put into research for the links.

Both sides took time out to build up reserves and to train Link Captains and to work out all sorts of other problems that the war had caused.

Most of the problems didn't get fixed though because everyone knew the war was going to start back up again. It was still going on, but a lot quieter.

Dee says that that time compares with something called the Cold War, but that they weren't exactly the same.

Now the war is back on hot, and no one knows who is going to win because both sides are evenly matched. The Gags make ships and pilots faster. Our Captains don't die in every battle though. We're all matched up.
